The starting MSRP of the 2019 Honda HR-V is $20,520. *
One of the newest subcompact crossovers in the North American market, the Honda HR-V entered its fourth model year with the 2019 version, which received a mid-cycle facelift. Once available in three trims, the number has been expanded to five: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring.
Under the hood of the 2019 Honda HR-V is a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with an output of 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque and glued to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) for a smooth, gearless drive. The Sport and higher-level trim get additional dual-mode paddle shifters to simulate a more exciting, manual-mode driving feel. Although front-wheel drive is standard on all trims but the Touring, you can opt for an all-wheel drivetrain (AWD) for enhanced traction. (AWD is standard on the Touring.) A five-seater, the 2019 Honda HR-V receives heated front seats if you go with at least the EX, is upgraded to leather upholstery if you choose the EX-L and receives 8-way power adjustability on the driver’s seat if you go with the Touring. Standard comfort and convenience features include cruise control, remote keyless entry, a four-speaker 160-watt audio system, Bluetooth® wireless connectivity, a USB port, and auxiliary audio jack, and a 5-inch color LCD screen.
On the Sport, Honda introduces Active Noise Cancellation™ acoustic technology, six-speaker 180-watt audio (instead of four speakers), an additional USB port, HondaLink® remote connectivity, and hands-free texting capability. In addition, the Sport is the entry point for the following technologies introduced for the 2019 model year: a 7-inch color touchscreen and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto® for smartphone integration. Go with the EX or higher if you want automatic climate control, HD Radio®, and a trial SiriusXM® satellite radio subscription. An auto-dimming rearview mirror, instead of the day/night one, appears on the EX-L and Touring. And exclusive to the Touring is a garage-door opener and voice-activated 7-inch touchscreen navigation. For restraint and cushioning in the event of a collision, the 2019 Honda HR-V has dual front impact airbags, dual front seat-mounted side impact airbags and dual side curtain airbags. Also standard are a multi-view monitoring camera, electronic vehicle stability control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, traction control, hill start assist, LED daytime running lights, and a theft-deterrent system that combines remote keyless entry with engine immobilization. The EX and higher-level trims come with LaneWatch™ for lane changing guidance. New for the 2019 model year is Honda Sensing®. Added on the EX, EX-L, and Touring, Honda Sensing® provides driver-assistance technologies that consist of road departure mitigation, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, lane keeping assist, and lane departure warning.
